Jonathan and I have been very blessed in our life! One thing I will always be thankful for is our dear friends Brad and Kristen. They have been there since the beginning. (About 6 years ago) Jonathan and Brad were friends a few months before Kristen and I had the pleasure of meeting each other over a four way phone conversation. Both our men were in the Air Force and it drew us together instantly. I remember staying on the phone with her long after the boys went to bed. We planed a few trips together so we could meet and see our men at the same time. A long story short - We both were engaged close to the same time and married a week apart. Then we went on to living right down the street from each other. I could not dreamed up a better story! We have enjoyed many camping trips together, biking, hiking, playing cards, traveling and experimenting with food. It's very easy to say that we will be life long friends!

A few weeks ago we all decided to take one of our fun weekend dates. We ended up at the Chapel Creek Winery a local vineyard to take some photos. In the past few months Brad and Kristen have become addicted to photography and I could not be more proud of them! There is nothing like having friends that share your passion! Jennifer and Chris Engaged!

What a fun evening with Jennifer and Chris. We took advantage of the holiday weekend and found a really great fireworks stand. The people there were great and we had a wonderful time. Allison and I had a fantastic time doing a fun lifestyle shoot at lake Hefner. We decided that we would not let the rain stop us. Allison is a sweet spirited little lady. This is a peek into her first photo shoot ever. I was very proud of her willingness to work hard for each shot. A random dog decided that he would like to be in a few of her photos and she played along with it perfectly. I look forward to working with Allison more in the future.

Garrick and Keturah were married near downtown Tulsa. They are outstanding young people and their families were so great to be around. If you have ever been to Tulsa you know how beautiful the BOK Center is! Their Combined Creativity wedding was outstanding! We decided to do portraits there and use the gorgeous architecture for a backdrop. I love when our couples want to do something outside of the box and get creative for their special day and these photos really made their day special and their wedding day photos awesome! Enjoy!

Some days my job feels more like play then anything else! I love giving people not only pretty photos of their family but also experience a wonderful day together. I had a client tell me the other day that they saw me walking away after the shoot and start skipping ;) Yeah, it's true! That's how happy my work makes me! I'm so blessed to know Brad and Kristen. They are some of the warmest people I've ever known. Their home is never empty. It's always full of love and random friends. Their dog has never known a stranger and I don't think they will either :) They love dancing and on any random weekend you would find them backpacking, rock climbing or floating down a river with friends!

Hold on to your friends tight and photograph them every chance you get!

Deer Springs Lodge

I had the pleasure of photographing Deer Springs Lodge in Luther Oklahoma last week. The ornate details of the loge took me into another world. As a kid I would have been in heaven exploring the sprawling estate. Every corner is another adventure and a hundred story's just waiting to be uncovered. They have a fantastic full kitchen, game room, pool, huge decks, great room, study, dining room, many bedrooms and master bathrooms. The facility is used to host weddings, retreats and parties. It's just off of historic Route 66 east of Edmond. The main house is huge and has a great view of classic Oklahoma landscapes. They even have American Bison on the property. At the bottom of the hill is a cozy bunk house that is as fascinating and impressive as the main house. I hope you all get a chance to explore and enjoy it one day!

Dog Sledding in Canada

I love to get away and have unique adventures. I crave anything out of the ordinary! I have decided to start sharing more of my journey through life with you. I hope it inspires you to get out and try something new!

This winter I spent a week in Ontario Canada at Agimac River Outfitters http://www.agimacriveroutfitters.ca/ I always have a blast kayaking, fishing, hiking, picking blueberries and dog sledding in the winter http://www.runsilent.com/index.html I have a few shots from one of my dog sledding adventures to share with you. Every time I go I'm in awe of the silent power they have and their love to run. I hope you get to experience it at least once in your life!!! I know you will end up wanting indulge in the rare joy it brings again and again - it's rather addicting!

One of the things I believe in greatly is collaboration. Photography often times can seem like a solitary venture. It really doesn't have to be. I know there is a community of great photographers and creative minds right here in Oklahoma. I believe to build that community and to make it even stronger we must collaborate and share ideas. A few months ago I decided to team up with Justin Voight. www.justinvoight.com We kicked around some ideas and came up with the concept of "Combined Creativity" to give our wedding clients something special. We have decided not to limit the Combined Creativity concept to weddings only.

Lately we have been commissioned to shoot some fashion photography. This gives us the perfect opportunity to hone our ideas and experiment with technique in a creative way. Kathleen is a model from the Anthony David Agency and she contacted us for a portfolio shoot. The shoot was really great and I decided to do a combined blog to showcase the work from the day.

The Combined Creativity concept when applied to other projects like fashion photography allows us to bring technique and concepts back to our wedding and portrait photography. We are able to give our clients work that is fresh, creative and informed by all of our successes as creative photographers. I am looking forward to doing more of it!

Stephanie and Ryan Wedding

It was such a joy to be with Stephanie and Ryan on their wedding day! They make such a special couple and I can't wait to see where life takes them.

The day started with hair and make-up for the beautiful blushing bride. Then we made our way to the church and Stephanie got into her gorgeous wedding gown. The ceremony commenced at 11am the day after Thanksgiving. It was wonderful seeing the grooms face light up as he saw his bride for the first time as she walked down the isle with her father. After the touching service we made our way outside for some portraits. What a lovely day to get married. I believe they caught the last day of summer.

After the reception the Bride and Groom headed down to Dallas to catch an early flight the fallowing morning to Mexico. They decided to start their marriage off right by fallowing their passion for missions. I see such great things in their future. They are truly a blessing!

Stephanie Bridal Photos

I had a fantastic bridal portrait shoot with Stephanie. It was so much fun to shoot around Oklahoma City. We started at the Chesapeake Boathouse and finished Downtown. The light at the boathouse was a dream. All of the reflections and light bouncing around made for some glowing and super amazing shots. After we shot at the boathouse we made our way downtown and had so much fun shooting a different look. It was fun shooting on the street and finding beautiful buildings to shoot in front of. It was a great and an outstanding day!
