Deer Springs Lodge

I had the pleasure of photographing Deer Springs Lodge in Luther Oklahoma last week. The ornate details of the loge took me into another world. As a kid I would have been in heaven exploring the sprawling estate. Every corner is another adventure and a hundred story's just waiting to be uncovered. They have a fantastic full kitchen, game room, pool, huge decks, great room, study, dining room, many bedrooms and master bathrooms. The facility is used to host weddings, retreats and parties. It's just off of historic Route 66 east of Edmond. The main house is huge and has a great view of classic Oklahoma landscapes. They even have American Bison on the property. At the bottom of the hill is a cozy bunk house that is as fascinating and impressive as the main house. I hope you all get a chance to explore and enjoy it one day!

Dog Sledding in Canada

I love to get away and have unique adventures. I crave anything out of the ordinary! I have decided to start sharing more of my journey through life with you. I hope it inspires you to get out and try something new!

This winter I spent a week in Ontario Canada at Agimac River Outfitters http://www.agimacriveroutfitters.ca/ I always have a blast kayaking, fishing, hiking, picking blueberries and dog sledding in the winter http://www.runsilent.com/index.html I have a few shots from one of my dog sledding adventures to share with you. Every time I go I'm in awe of the silent power they have and their love to run. I hope you get to experience it at least once in your life!!! I know you will end up wanting indulge in the rare joy it brings again and again - it's rather addicting!

panting dogs conquer the frozen slope
where frigid air like thorns in the lungs doubles you.
With whistle signal sled travelers halt,
dismount and approach the humble beasts,
bare fingers course through frozen fur's sharp edges.
Their prideful stature spent, these finest companions

Cathleen - Combined Creativity

One of the things I believe in greatly is collaboration. Photography often times can seem like a solitary venture. It really doesn't have to be. I know there is a community of great photographers and creative minds right here in Oklahoma. I believe to build that community and to make it even stronger we must collaborate and share ideas. A few months ago I decided to team up with Justin Voight. www.justinvoight.com We kicked around some ideas and came up with the concept of "Combined Creativity" to give our wedding clients something special. We have decided not to limit the Combined Creativity concept to weddings only.

Lately we have been commissioned to shoot some fashion photography. This gives us the perfect opportunity to hone our ideas and experiment with technique in a creative way. Kathleen is a model from the Anthony David Agency and she contacted us for a portfolio shoot. The shoot was really great and I decided to do a combined blog to showcase the work from the day.

The Combined Creativity concept when applied to other projects like fashion photography allows us to bring technique and concepts back to our wedding and portrait photography. We are able to give our clients work that is fresh, creative and informed by all of our successes as creative photographers. I am looking forward to doing more of it!
